D&G Forever! {Adelaide Wedding Photographer}

Well here we go, the photos from the fabulous wedding of Dave & Georgie.

I know I tend to ramble on with how awesome weddings are. But this was one really, truely was!

The love between Georgie & Dave is so thick it’s almost palpable. They love each other so much that simply being together is all they need. But to top of that off, they were so adamant that this was THIER day and they were going to have FUN. And FUN we all had!

I was lucky enough to have not one, but 2 lovely ladies with me again. Of course thanks must go out to my fabulous partner in crime Shana. And I was joined once again by the wonderful Heidi of Heidi K Photography Thanks so much ladies! You helped to make the day awesome!

So I will start the showcase of their day, where we started ours, with the boys! We arrived to find a tie tying lesson in full swing! (Incase you couldn’t pick it, Dave is the “pro” and his “merry men” just couldn’t quite grasp it!DG_wedding_11

And I introduce you to Dave, the groom with ALL the right moves! ;)

DG_wedding_24

Then over to the girls. Such beautiful girls!

Meet Georgie. She .Is.Divine.

Georgie & Dave were married at the super fun beach house at Glenelg! Which of course allowed for MANY awesome & fun photo oportunities!!!

In our planning of what photos they were after, it had always been their vision to have me go up in the ferris wheel out the front and take a huge big group shot. Awesome idea, yes! Easy to execute, NO! Even for me (and I have a loud voice) the logistics of yelling from 25 metres up in the air at 150+ guests…. yeah, doesn’t actaully work out the best. Thankfully though I had my bestie / mind reader Shana on the job who managed to organise everyone on the ground, whilst trying to interpret my hand signals from above!

Thanks to my fab friend Steph for taking this “action shot” of me..

And the resulting shot

We then headed off with the bridal party for a casual round of mini golf, follwed by a ride on the miniture train.

DG_wedding_21

From there everyone went for a ride on the carosel! (obviously!)

DG_wedding_22

Then it was time for the dodgem cars!

DG_wedding_14

DG_wedding_20

I then snuck Dave & Georgie out for a few minutes by themselves. I almost felt like an intruder. So intimate, so beautiful.

DG_wedding_23

This is my favourite image from the day. I love the rainbow flare, as if God Himself is smiling down on them.

DG_wedding_15

This magical day was topped by a wonderful reception. However the icing on the cake for me was their wonderful bridal waltz.

DG_wedding_16

So a huge shoutout must go to the wonderful team at The Beachouse Glenelg. Nothing was too big, nor too little for them. And mention must go to the wonderful Amy who shepparded us around all of the rides, and then the beautiful Kate who made sure we were all well fed. You girls rock!

Dave & Georgie. What can I say. You day was amazing. I hope these memories that I’ve captured will enable you to remember your day in all it’s glory again, and again and again. Thank you so much for alwoing me to be a part!

Introducing Utopia! {Adelaide Wedding Photographer}

I am so very excited to tell you all about one of Adelaides newest (& hottest) Wedding venues!
UTOPIA @ Waterfall Gully has recently been taken over by mulit-award winning chef Justin Markos & beautiful wife Kelly. It has been refurbished, revamped and given a whole new lease on life.

At Utopia, we specialise in creating customised, personalised weddings, functions and dinners – ensuring each special event is a true reflection of our guests’ preferences and personalities. Whether it’s an intimate dinner for 20, a formal wedding for 70 or a spectacular cocktail party for 170, we can create the perfect package to help you host the event of your dreams.

Kelly approached me a few months ago about being the preferred photographer for the venue. After looking at what they had to offer, I couldn’t agree fast enough.

We decided that a promo shoot was in order
a) to celebrate how wonderful everything now looks and
b) to help spread the word about such an amazing venue.

The team at Utopia have also teamed up with the very talented Kellie & Maxine of Set Your Scene. All of these gorgeous decorations courtesy of Set Your Scene, and give you just an idea of the selection that is avaliable for your big day!

So lets start of with the striking black & red set up!

Utopia_Blog_06

I had to show off these gorgeous oversize martini glasses! They are just divine!

Utopia_Blog_04

Some of the fabulous cakes on offer by the wonderful cake maker Mel @ Utopia (and yes! They do taste as good as they look!) You have to LOVE the waterfall cake….. at Waterfall gully! AWESOME!

Utopia_Blog_02

For those wanting to utilise the outdoors for a gorgeous cocktail reception…

Utopia_Blog_05

To show off the location (that you are free to use) we had the beautiful Hannah help us out.

Utopia_Blog_01

How romantic to have your wedding photos taken at the very base of a real live waterfall!

Utopia_Blog_07

So all of you beautiful bride & grooms to be i would highly recommend you check out Utopia @ Waterfall Gully for your big day.

I just have to add, that they also do so much more than weddings. If you’re in the area pop in for a meal, or even just a coffee & cake. You wont be disappointed!

Dave & Georgie – Engagement fun! {Adelaide Wedding Photographer}

There is something exhilarating about a couple a few weeks before their wedding day. The excitement is there, the details all organised, the anticipation is building up, and nerves are no where to be seen, yet. I love to hear my brides talk about all the details, the dresses, the suits, the hair & make-up. What better time to do it than a few weeks before the wedding!

2 weeks ago I caught up with Dave & Georgie. Next week we will be celebrating their wedding and I CAN’T WAIT!!! I have known Georgie for years…… and I mean years!!! Back when I was a silly, pmiply little teenager! So the fact that she is entrusting me with the memories of her big day, well it means a lot!

Dave & Georgie are a super fun couple and oh so cute! We headed off down to the affectionately named “duck poo park”…. ahhhh could it be any more romantic? *cough*

I love engagement sessions! It allows me to watch the beautiful couple interact, without the stress of the wedding day. Engagement sessions are simply about the couple.

So…. meet Georgie & Dave!

Georgie_E-session_05

We managed (actually they managed) to dodge the duck poo……. and had a wonderful session!

Georgie_E-session_06

Georgie_E-session_07

This apparently is the “Twilight” pose! They pull it off quite well don’t you think!

Georgie_E-session_01

HOT HOT HOT!!!!

Georgie_E-session_02

My favourite thing when photographing couples, is when they forget I’m there. That moment that they enjoy being in each other’s company so much… the world around them just fades, and it’s them. Just them.

Georgie_E-session_08

Georgie_E-session_03

They are so beautiful.

Georgie_E-session_04

Dave & Georgie, thank you so much for choosing me to be your photographer. It really is an honor (as are all my weddings!)

Dave – I wish you all the best for tonight, and hope that the guys go easy on you! :D

Adam & Natalie Surprise all!!!! {Adelaide Wedding Photographer}

And here we have it, the story of Natalie & Adam’s surprise wedding!

It all started off at The Ed! Guests started arriving from 5.30pm onwards. An “engagement party” they all thought. The couple were congratulated, people were happy, drinks all round.

Why would there be a photographer at an engagement party I hear you ask? Well the fabulous Natalie had already solved that dilema! …. “Instead of taking me up on my offer of an E-session they decided to have me at the engagement party instead”. It worked a treat! I was able to walk around as I pleased, “pretending” I was only there for practice!

Pre wedding jitters? No where to be found! These guys are cooooool customers! Look at them glammed up, casually chatting with their guests knowing they are mere minutes away from one of the biggest events of their lives!

Natalie_H_Blog_20

A quick last minute run down….

Natalie_H_Blog_12

Natalie slips away unnoticed and goes to get changed

Natalie_H_Blog_22 Adam’s first glimpse of his glowing bride *sigh* – so precious!

Natalie_H_Blog_13

You can see the love between them

Natalie_H_Blog_15

Natalie_H_Blog_14 After the ceremony it was time to debrief!!!!

Untitled-1 Then it was time for family photos…… and photos with besties (who may I add is also a fabulous hair dresser! She did Nat’s hair! Gorgeous!)

Natalie_H_Blog_16

Now this next photo has a story…… Adam & Natalie actually met for the first time at a bus stop, so when we realised that there was a bus stop right out the front….. we had to put it to good use!

Natalie_H_Blog_23

Such a gorgeous couple who just love each other so much.

Natalie_H_Blog_17

Natalie_H_Blog_18

Doesn’t she make such a stunning bride?

Natalie_H_Blog_21

As we were wrapping up, Natalie commented on the gorgeous colour of the sunset, the only place we could properly see this was from the street! So yes, laugh away, I did nearly get hit by a taxi, and a ute, all as Natalie & Adam stood there laughing at my car dodging attempts! But it was worth it in the end!

Natalie_H_Blog_19

Adam & Nat, thanks for being such a wonderful couple to work with! You guys were too cool for school! I love that you pulled of your surprise wedding so well! Enjoy your sneak peek and I look forward to showing you the rest!
