Coastlense – Grunge Time!

Yay! Once again it was time for the fabulous team from Coastlense to get together for another “shoot-shop”. This time our theme was “Grunge”.

We had an amazing line up of models who were just fantastic to work with on the day. If you’re in Adelaide and interested in hooking up with some other photographers, look us up!

Thanks so much to the amazing Cindy Lee for all your effort in setting up all he behind the scenes stuff. As well as Rob for encouraging us all to push our boundaries! *On a side note* Rob’s gorgeous wife Chione is just the most fabulous shoot director you could ask for!

It’s so far removed from what I normally do! So let me know what you think!

And just to show to show that we had fun too…..

Till next time!

Coastlens SHOOTshop! {Adelaide Photographer}

I had the immense please of being invited along to the most recent Coastlens SHOOTshop. It’s kinda of like a workshop, but not really! If that makes any sense at all! It’s just a wonderful group of Christians who love photography, getting together and doing what they love, taking photos! I had an absolute blast!

I laughed, I listened, I helped (well I think I did), I watched, I learnt, and did I mention… I laughed, A LOT! :D

A HUGE Shout out to the fabulous Cindy Lee of Cindy Lee Photography for inviting me! I now can’t wait for the next one!

If it sounds like something you’d enjoy, then shout out! They love new members!

Onto the proof! – We were so extremely lucky to have such a wonderful line up of gorgeous models! Check out these gorgeous girls, who also happen to be BFF’s!

Skye, gorgeous Skye! My camera (and I) couldn’t get enough of this girl! She also has a beautiful personality to match!

Bella – In Italian this translates as “Beautiful”. Enough said.

Shannen. To me, beauty is not only about what we see physically, it’s also about what’s inside and radiates out. So true for this young lady!

This shoot took place at the grounds of St Jude’s Uniting Church at Willunga. They were so picturesque with glorious old stone furniture.

Inspire Me ’09 Part 3

Wow! What an amazing way to round off such an awesome workshop. Our “teacher” for the day was the amazing Joey L

He was such a huge inspiration to us all! I had so much fun on our last day. Everything that we had learnt about lighting with Zack just tied in perfectly to what Joey was showing us.

Ainslie Bernoth who was our hostess, had organised a wonderful final shoot to go out on! So without further ado, i present day 3 of Inspire Me ’09!

This gorgeous girl is Ainslie’s eldest daughter. Not one of the model’s, but I personally think she could have fit the part!

HOT car, HOT location, HOT model. What more could I ask for?

This is Joey’s assistant / buddy Will. He was more than happy at the chance to jump into this smokin car!

Can’t wait until next year!

Inspire Me ’09 Part 2!

Well where do i start?? This was such an awesome day! Today our teacher was Zack Arias. He is seriously the KING of flash. And i mean off camera flash in his words “As God intended flash to be!”. Above all though, he is a seriously amazing guy. So open and honest. I first came accross Zack with his Transform video. It honestly touched my heart. It was so reassuring to see that someone else had the same fears and insecurities that I did!….. But I digress!

I have so much i need to say, so much i feel the need to type about this day, yet I simply lack the words to do so! Instead i will say, if you ever. And i mean EVER get the chance to go to one of Zack’s workshops, then DO IT! It will change you! Not only the way you shoot, but the way you THINK!

Thank you Zack!

For this day of the workshop we were so lucky to have some amazing models! My favourite model from the whole workshop had to be Charne! She is a model / singer/ all round awesome girl! So down to earth with a fab personality to match!

Next up was the GORGEOUS Alinta Seriously, this chick is freaking amazing! And oh so patient with us!

Finally we have our gorgeous make-up artist! One of the models was a no show so we convinced this lovely lady to step in for us! Isn’t she beautiful!

Thanks for looking and watch out for day 3 coming soon!

Inspire Me ’09 – Part 1

Oh wowowowowowow!!!! LOL! Sorry, just had to get that out of my system! Can I just say, that I had the most amazing time at this workshop! Just amazing!

I was a tad naughty, and rearranged all of Declan’s upcoming appointments around, so that I could still attend this fabulous workshop….. obsessed I hear you say? Yes I agree! But you have to understand, this had the line up of the century! Definitely not one to be missed! The wonderful Ainslie from Wild Spirit Photography, was the hostess with the mostess! The workshop was comprised of 3 FULL days of teaching, learning, and of course my favorite, socializing!

Day one was the amazing Nichole Van! For all you Aussies who may not be familiar with her work, I highly suggest you check her out! Nichole V I came home from day one on such a high. All you photographers out there, if you’ve ever been to one of her workshops, then I’m sure you’ll agree with me as to how wonderful she is! If you haven’t, and you ever get the chance, then I could not recommend it highly enough! She is a beautiful lady with a beautiful soul. There is nothing that remains hidden, she just gives herself 150%.

Seeing as Declan had travelled to sunny QLD to be near me at all times (the joys of being the “milk bar”). I was quick to volunteer him up as a baby model for the class! Can you imagine my excitement to see Nichole Van + 10 other amazing photographers in their own rights, all snapping away at my little dude? He was in his element of course!

Notice his fav little Pooh Bear blankie in the bottom! LOL You can see a finshed picture at Fiona Carson’s blog

Now for a couple of pictures i took on day 1!

This is Nichole V’s gorgeous daughter! Gorgeous? Heck yes!!!

Her studly young man! On a side note, could you imagine sitting for an hour, whilst 10 photographers fuss, and flitter around you? It’s enough to send shivers done my spine! But not these kids! They were so patient with us!

My favorite image! That perfect time of day, that only lasts for about 30mins where there is that beautiful warm haze that settles our souls!

Stay tuned for Days 2 & 3!
