18 months of joy, tears, laughter, crying, love, screaming & perfection.

My little dude is 18 months old now! WOW where has that time gone?

When I found out I was pregnant with baby #4 I just assumed he would “fit right in”. I’d been there, done that. I already had 3 kids, seriously what could #4 possibly throw at me that I hadn’t experienced before?

HA!

Little did I know that Declan Jack aka Baby #4 would turn our lives upside down!

It has been hard. Really hard. HE has been hard work. Really hard work. I used to “suck it up” and smile and say “oh he’s just a tad off today”, “ohhh he’s not normally like this”, “he’s just a baby”. And then cry behind closed doors because he’d done little else than scream for the entire day.

A couple of weeks ago I went and saw Sex & The City 2 with some girlfriends. Apart from the fact that I’m possibly one of the biggest SATC fans (I delayed going to the hospital whilst in labour with Kaity as I wanted to watch the end of an episode) it changed my life. Okay that’s rather dramatic, but it at least changed my way of thinking. (For all of you highly uncultured peeps out there who haven’t yet seen it) there is a scene where Charlotte and Miranda talk about how hard it is to be a Mum. Charlotte admits to having to walk away while her baby screams. Yes I KNOW, it’s only a movie! But it was SO GOOD to hear those words spoken out loud!

It made me realise that I can say he’s hard and it doesn’t make me a “bad mum”, doesn’t mean I love him any less. It just means I’m truthful. Because for every “bad” moment. There is a “great” one! When I look at him and he.is.so.friggen.cute.that.i.feel.like.i.can’t,handle.it.and.am.going.to.explode.

Yesterday I needed to have one of the above moments, so I dressed him up and we went to “play”.

His little overalls are gorgeous OOBI BABY ones. Oobi is by far my favourite brand for baby wear!

Then we went in for an outfit change.

Oh winter sun how I love thee!

“Pussy cat is over there”

And just to show you that it wasn’t all smiles….

But he is my little dude and I simply adore him!

Coastlense – Grunge Time!

Yay! Once again it was time for the fabulous team from Coastlense to get together for another “shoot-shop”. This time our theme was “Grunge”.

We had an amazing line up of models who were just fantastic to work with on the day. If you’re in Adelaide and interested in hooking up with some other photographers, look us up!

Thanks so much to the amazing Cindy Lee for all your effort in setting up all he behind the scenes stuff. As well as Rob for encouraging us all to push our boundaries! *On a side note* Rob’s gorgeous wife Chione is just the most fabulous shoot director you could ask for!

It’s so far removed from what I normally do! So let me know what you think!

And just to show to show that we had fun too…..

Till next time!

Donna & Travis engagement bliss! {Adelaide Wedding Photographer}

Meet Donna & Travis, my soon to be bride and groom! I had the pleasure of catching up with this fabulous couple  to finalise their upcoming wedding plans. After we had finished with the formalities we headed down to beautiful Semaphore beach to get to know each other a little bit better before the big day!

I truely love “E sessions”. I find it a great way to really get to know a couple before their big day! Donna & Travis were no exception! Within minutes of meeting them i felt as if I’d known them for ages!

Unfortunately for us, we decided to meet up on a day that was PACKED down at the beach! So we had to risk 1000 people getting in our shots… or take it a little bit more off road. We ended up doing a bit of both!

So…. here they are!

It was an absolute pleasure meeting this little cherub along with her 3 big doting sisters!

So without further ado, meet Ada-Mae

50 year Anniversary! (Minus 43 years) {Adelaide Photographer}

Meet Sam & Luke! Sam contacted me a few weeks ago about doing a shoot in celebration of their upcoming 7th wedding anniversary! Of course I was excited! She was after sunset / field shots that I had recently done with Shana (You can see that session here. Well unfortunately for us….. the council had decided to mow our beautiful block of land! :( So off location scouting it was! And boy did we find gold!

It was a gorgeous location, with stunning models and beautiful light! Seriously a photographers dream!

You’ll have to excuse the funny title of the post, not long into the session Luke had asked if they’d be able to book me in for their 50th wedding anniversary! Of course I agreed and we joked about different ways to do the shoot whilst in wheel chairs!

Anyways enough of my rambling, I’m sure Sam & Luke are dying to see their pictures!

See, what did I say? Models, location & light! Perfecto!

About 20 mins into the session I spotted up a stobie pole in the middle of nowhere about 200m up a steep hill…. so off it was we went!

Check out the flare I found up there!

Then back down the hill to the gorgeous… “weeds”

On to some individual shots! Sam was just stunning! Poor Luke. He is too funny and happy to be serious! I told him to do his “blue steel” face, and all we got was smiles and laughter!

I love to watch couples. Either in weddings or engagement shoots and especially anniversary session. I love to see what makes them tick and how they interact. Well in this particular couple Luke just adores Sam. It was so beautiful to watch! At times I felt like I was intruding on a special moment!

Sunset! Oh how I love sunset! Teamed with an of camera flash set up, you can pick up the gorgeous colours of the sky, while still lighting your subjects properly. This following shot actually happened! Yes the sky really was this gorgeous! We were so happy!

Sam & Luke, thank you so much for such a wonderful evening! We giggled, we laughed, we rolled around on the ground in hysterics! You were so willing to go with my crazy whims and it was an absolute delight to work with you!

A huge shout out to all the stinkin flies that thought they should join us! While my doing my “ninja” moves to get rid of them caused many laughs, I’m sure next time I will be fine with out you!
